 Kippenbrock holiday party 2003- On December 13, 2003, Frank "Kip" Kippenbrock opened
up his house for the winter holiday party and meeting. Good friends,
good food, and good times.
- Yard sale fundraiser
- On October 18, 2003, the Detachment held a yard sale
to raise greatly needed funds. Over 300 dollars was raised. Special
thanks to Clifford and Dee Brown for allowing us to host the yard sale
at their house. Also thanks to Kevin Oliver for organizing it.

Marine Corps League Rifle Match 2003
- On September 27-28, 2003, the Detachment
participated in a rifle competition at Fort Indiantown Gap, PA.
- Name Changing Ceremony
- On July 19, 2003, the Detachment held a name
changing ceremony where the name was officially changed from the
"Howard County Detachment" to the "SSgt Karl G. Taylor, Sr.
Detachment." You make us proud SSgt Taylor!
- Flag Award Presentations
- On June 14, 2003, Flag Day, the Detachment presented
flag awards to Chick-Fil-A and Bob Evans, both Howard County Businesses
that know how to properly displaying the American flag. Hoorah!
- Department of Pennsylvania
Marine Corps League Pistol Match 2003
- On May 30-June 1, 2003, the Detachment participated
in the annual pistol match at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania. We
killed several soggy cardboard targets!
- Department of Maryland State
Convention 2003
- On May 9-11, 2003, delegates from the Detachment
attended the Department of Maryland Annual State Convention in Ocean
City, Maryland.
- Marine of the Year 2002
- Frank "Kip" Kippenbrock was named the Detachment
"Marine of the Year" for his outstanding performance in 2002. This award, presented in 2003, is for accomplishments in 2002.
